Von Tetzchner recognized that mobile browsers lacked in key areas such as speed and web page rendering, and led the effort to cement the Opera mobile browsers as major players in the space. This push into the mobile phone segment was so successful that Opera is now included on a significant number of smartphones shipped worldwide.
