Opera's Triple Triumph at the About.com Reader's Choice Awards
What a thriller! After a lengthy voting period and more than 20000 votes in the most active category, the results from the About.com 2010 Web Browser Reader's Choice Awards are finally in. It was a tight race at times, but a clear winner emerged in the end:
Opera
Not only did Opera grab the first spot in the Best Major Desktop Browser category, with 51% of the votes (and Firefox in second place with a healthy 41%), but we completely dominated the Best Mobile Browser category, where Opera Mini and Opera Mobile share came in first and second, with 37% and 28% of the votes respectively.
All three Opera browsers in the browser polls ended up in the top spots!
I should perhaps add that a poll like this is of course completely unscientific, but it could show the relative strength of the different browser communities to a certain extent. How great is it that "little Opera" was able to rally the community behind it like this?
The credit for this goes to all you Opera fans out there, whose votes brought Opera to the top. As a little "thank you", I can perhaps reveal that we have some big things coming your way for both Desktop, Mini and Mobile this year. Stay tuned for more!

Btw, you revealed absolutely nothing, since as Opera users we always know that big things are coming in the future. After all Opera = Innovation.
Hopefully, big things in desktop= an API of some sorts.

@ Folks - It was possible to cheat in that poll by voting once per each session. However, we can still claim that Opera's supporters where more active, and thus showed how wonderful Opera browsers are. In case of Opera Mini, it really is superior because it runs on so many devices and offers GUI in so many languages. And in general the Opera's business model, which rely on MyOpera and testing with customers, proved that also other Opera browsers are popular when it comes to quality.

Now you could be a little bit more specific when those big things are coming. We now that there will be new versions, but we want to know just when.

So, at Feb. 24 (the one day to the end of voting) Firefox had the 1 rank:
Feb.24, 12:35
Firefox 3.5/3.6 (9355) 47%
Opera 10.x (8761) 44%
But after a few reminds at the Russian blogs and forums the situation was dramatically changed:
Feb.25, 04:17
Firefox 3.5/3.6 (10664) 41%
Opera 10.x (13040) 50%
Of course, other communities made a good contribution too, so - thanks to all!

So Haavard, are the devs pleased with "only" two thirds of the mobile vote?

First of all it duplicated controls in status bar - http://hexmode.org/o1050/01.png
And since that status bar text moves the buttons and the whole this jumps from left to right while moving mouse there - http://hexmode.org/o1050/02.png
The worst thing is that all dialogs are without texts - http://hexmode.org/o1050/03.png http://hexmode.org/o1050/04.png
I will now install from scratch because I need to work. But if you need something like configs before install and what happened after, then I have two PCs at home which I will upgrade this evening. So if you need that stuff - just say it
Sorry for writing here, but opera.com is overloaded, I can not get to Report Bug section.

Opera 10.50 have a lot of big changes, in this case the most comfortable variant - to make a clear installation of the newest Opera version.

I think it would be nice to have a separate migration tool, probably as a part of Opera Link. Well, I would like to see every option moved there. Except for Wand, of course.
