Opera 5.00 beta 2 for Mac changelog

This document details the changes made in Opera 5.0 for Mac Beta 2 since 5.0 beta 1.

Changelog

New features

• Improvement on view source: it allows you to click links and colorize tags/attributes
• Autocompletion implemented, but must be turned on in preferences
• "File Type" preferences have been implemented, but are not perfect yet
• Support for system fonts, hardcoded platinum-look for user colors
• Opera now uses helper application settings from "InternetConfig"
• Sounds should work a bit more like expected
• When downloading a file or page, the URL is stored in Finder's "Get Info" comment field.
• Certificates implemented
• Java improved and re-enabled

User interface

• Added contextual menu to Transfer Window
• Application icon improved
• Escape no longer deletes downloads
• External source viewer now brought to front when launched by Opera
• Added "Get from Keychain" button in "Authorization" dialogue box
• Toolbar "Stop" button toggles between "Stop" and "Reload" (to save space)
• Added support for zoom buttons; search for "Zoom" in "ButtonSet.xml"
• "Document" and "Image" progress images are now displayed in the progress bar

ECMAScript

• ECMAScript runs as a shared library with standard memory allocation
• Several bugs fixed
• Timing bug fixed
• Setting control values works
• Implemented "window.close()"

Plug-ins

• Plug-ins work
• Plug-in preferences implemented, but not perfect yet
• RealPlayer works if configured manually (by changing "rmm,ram" so that it uses the RealPlayer application in "Preferences" > "File Types")

Bookmarks

• Deleting bookmarks brings up a confirmation dialog
• Implemented "View Options" for bookmarks
• Bookmarks crashes fixed
• Fixed problem with dragging bookmark items
• Fixed bugs during startup and termination related to bookmarks

Bug fixes

• Fixed a bug relating to setting the default browser under OS X
• Direct history bug now eliminated completely
• CSS problems fixed
• Fixed upper-/lower-case problem with "Find in document"
• Fixed search pop-up
• Fixed a hidden and very strange bug in the scale pop-up menu
• Fixed more bugs related to pop-ups
• Improved and fixed drag-and-drop
• Internal "View Source" improved
