Choose... Prizes

January 18, 2011 · by .ed

Espen and I were talking about the huge response the Love your browser mobile phone case received in the background of the preview video of Opera for tablets. So, we grabbed over 20 of them for the Edit the Page contest. We also figured we'd throw a poll in the side bar (scroll down!) to see what other types of rewards the community would appreciate when we do new contests.

Tell us what you want there, and if you have even better ideas drop a comment below!

    Mugs, tees, scarfs, umrella's (how cool are umbrella's with Opera on it!?) & keychaines (just the new O logo :heart:)
  • Nimit SolankiTuesday, January 18, 2011 3:58:33 PM

    I'm sorry, but....cheese slicer has to be one of the greatest and craziest suggestions you've got on there.
  • Докучаев КонстантинTuesday, January 18, 2011 7:12:14 PM

    done
  • SuntanaTuesday, January 18, 2011 8:29:41 PM

    Computers, Monitors, External Hard Drives, Blu-Ray Disk Players and Big Screen TVs.
    That should do it.

    :sherlock: Hmmm? Okay, so those are probably NOT going to happen.

    What about Vehicle Windshield Sun Shades with "Opera" splattered from side to side? Maybe it could say, "Opera Browser ... The future is so bright my car's gotta wear Shades."

    That would certainly get Opera some advertising outside of the Internet confines.
  • d4rkn1ghtTuesday, January 18, 2011 9:08:40 PM

    A t-shirt will be cool! :smile:
  • KarenTuesday, January 18, 2011 9:32:40 PM

    Shirts - all the way! :yes:

  • SuntanaTuesday, January 18, 2011 10:13:14 PM

    A word of caution on the T-Shirts and Polo Shirts though.
    They have a VERY Small cut / fit from the outset.
    I have NEVER worn an Extra Large T-Shirt or Polo Shirt before and yet with the Opera ones, that's just BARELY what fit.

    And now after 2 or 3 washings, they don't really fit ideally anymore. The width is OK on those Polo Shirts, but the length was noticeably extremely short for Polo Shirts right out of the bag. After those 2 or 3 washings, they shrank even MORE! :scared: They're now 6 to 8 inches shorter than my typical Polo Shirt. So, for all practical purposes, they are now ... well, NOT practical. Any deviation from standing straight up with your arms on your sides ... and there's gonna be either Belly Button or Butt Crackage on display. :yikes:

    IMO, MyOpera should hook up with a different supplier for the T-Shirts and Polo Shirts. Those Polo Shirts seriously need some extra length to compensate for the guaranteed considerable shrinkage.
  • George BestTuesday, January 18, 2011 10:57:35 PM

    T's would be nice
  • Marek NowickiTuesday, January 18, 2011 11:24:10 PM

    USB stick with Opera! :up:

    But what about Opera Mascot like Opera Android? Or USB stick in shape of it.

    Other ideas:
    * magnet to fridge
    * little tables for erasable pens
    * puzzles
    * backpacks
    * rucksack (or simply bags)
    * flashlight

    It's the real deal. I ACTUALLY have an Opera cheese slicer at home.
  • g2spotWednesday, January 19, 2011 8:26:23 AM

    what about earbuds or headphones? the opera logo would fit nice on them. and everybody wears them in public, and would make quite a contrast to that boring white ones from that "you-know-the-name" company everybody has now...

    /g..

    USB flash drive is a good idea. We should make another T-shirt design contest and the prize of course is the winning T-shirt.

    //And how about this one
