I used to use it. It's alright.

(and you can quote me on that)
  • MyOpera team, please fix this!Wednesday, August 19, 2009 9:21:03 AM

I thought this was a poll to gauge its popularity which would lead to internal changes towards m2. I shall walk away with my head held down. I'm not an m2 user. I can still do an interview though .
  • Vetle RoeimWednesday, August 19, 2009 9:21:06 AM

I use it. No surprise there, I guess. Best desktop mail client ever!
  • Martin RauscherWednesday, August 19, 2009 9:27:20 AM

The best thing about M2 is simply that it is there where it makes the most sense: Right there in your browser. No useless extra programs needed.

Using filters to organize your mails is only one of the advanced features that every heavy email user needs.

    </Propaganda>

    But while we're at it:
    • pasting of images from the clipboard in HTML mail
    • organizing RSS Feeds in Folders
    • Creating own categories
    • and limiting the number of saved searches

are only a few of the things that need to done to make M2 really great!

PS: And I would really like a 2 lined email listing like in Outlook...

For 2 secs I thought you were talking about this Opera Mail: http://www.operamail.com/

btw the link you gave seems to have some layout issues: http://www.opera.com/mail/ (tested with Safari, Firefox and Opera 10b3)
  • HoricӑWednesday, August 19, 2009 9:35:28 AM

Oh, it makes my life so, so easier!

Been using it since I don't know when!
  • tehdaiWednesday, August 19, 2009 9:36:42 AM

Really love it - it's a paradigm shift from the old folders/files metaphor. The search is lovely and the persistence of it is even better. Couldn't manage an inbox without it these days.

Please - for God's sake please - document all the functions properly. And please fix the "labels disappearing" issue with IMAP.
  • ArtemWednesday, August 19, 2009 9:36:51 AM

I use it with gmail and corporate IMAP server.

  • Jacek JędrzejewskiWednesday, August 19, 2009 9:41:59 AM

I love having all my mails in a single software, so close while browsing the web.
  • SardorbekWednesday, August 19, 2009 9:42:13 AM

Today, started to use, I liked it.
  • Asbjørn UlsbergWednesday, August 19, 2009 9:43:04 AM

I use it with the setup Windows XP + IMAP/Gmail + RSS at work and OS X + IMAP/Gmail + RSS at home. I think it's ok, but there's a lot I'd like to see improved and streamlined. I've been using it for several years as my default e-mail client and feed reader.
  • Yeni SetiawanWednesday, August 19, 2009 9:43:30 AM

Opera M2 is cool, I can check email while I'm browsing.
I also find out that the program can display email from a mailing list as thread too.
  • MaxFraggWednesday, August 19, 2009 9:44:05 AM

I use it, and love it, simply because i got all in one, the only thing really missing is a calender funktion compareable to outlook or sunbird, would be really cool combined with the autosync feature
  • ArtemWednesday, August 19, 2009 9:48:41 AM

BTW, where I should ask for Jabber support in Opera?
  • dgoemansWednesday, August 19, 2009 9:48:52 AM

I use it for work mail at home, and it does everything i need it to. It's fast, efficient, and integrates perfectly with my browser and OS. The threading feature can save hours looking through mails, and the customizability ( as with evewrything Opera ) just plain rocks!
  • John FauldsWednesday, August 19, 2009 9:56:31 AM

I've been using it for a few years now too for both work and personal emails and on Windows and Mac. I use it because it combines email, RSS & browser all rolled into one. If it was possible to sync mail more easily between different computers, it'd be perfect!
  • ZotlanWednesday, August 19, 2009 10:02:24 AM

Used to use it when all i had was a PC. Now that i have a laptop and a mobile version of Opera too it's just more convenient for me to stick with web-based email.
  • Brian L JohnsonWednesday, August 19, 2009 10:04:23 AM

    Modern, wide-screen monitors {heart} M2!

Why? Well, you can use M2 to have your email open in a 10cm column down one side of the screen, set up a 5cm VisualTabs column down the other side of the screen and *still* have room for a normal browser window between them!

And why would anybody NOT have their email client right there at their fingertips?!
  • dwakretkiWednesday, August 19, 2009 10:10:06 AM

I use it with gmail and yahoo
  • Anthony B. CoatesWednesday, August 19, 2009 10:11:59 AM

I've been using M2 for years now, it's absolutely my preferred e-mail client. I've looked at others, nothing makes a compelling case for itself. That said, there are something I would like to see improved too, if you want to discuss that side of things too sometimes.
  • Ide StoutjesdijkWednesday, August 19, 2009 10:16:45 AM

I'm using it with 2 imap accounts for years now. Fastest e-mail client on the planet
  • Jaran NilsenWednesday, August 19, 2009 10:23:47 AM

Been using it for years and loving it. Can provide a quote if needed
  • deluminathorWednesday, August 19, 2009 10:26:06 AM

I use Opera Mail with 6 accounts (some of them are POP3, some are IMAP) and it works great (excluding Gmail IMAP that has some strange behaviour and it doesn't cooperate properly with Opera Mail, there were articles about that, i.e. http://my.opera.com/burnout426/blog/show.dml/2456007 ). Following the threads, filters, views configuration, auto-learning spam filter, labels - all this stuff is extremaly useful
  • ZimakWednesday, August 19, 2009 10:29:34 AM

Opera Mail - the best! I use it every day.
  • Menno van der LedenWednesday, August 19, 2009 10:32:55 AM

I use it. It is fast. It is always available. It just works.
  • lwqoperaWednesday, August 19, 2009 10:34:17 AM

I use M2 since I use Opera - it great, but have some flies :-)

At work I need use IMAP via proxy and I can not figure out, how ... :-/

I use it but it would be better if we use it together RTF support
  • RastislavWednesday, August 19, 2009 10:42:19 AM

I've been using Opera mail since I started to use Opera, and I like this client, and idea browser and mail client together. And it's still improveing, what else to say. M2 is great
  • NicolasWednesday, August 19, 2009 10:44:43 AM

I use M2 for my personals e-mails in my office,
For my professionals e-mails, i use Notes
For my personals mail at home, i use Outlook 2007 because it's integrate calendar and a lot of others features that are not implemented in Opera like synchro with my PDA without internet connexion.
  • Speedo GooWednesday, August 19, 2009 10:47:28 AM

The worst thing about M2 is it's inside Opera. Since I use multiple browsers (and switch between them randomly), I'd prefer a standalone mail app.
  • Sorawit SiangjaeoWednesday, August 19, 2009 10:58:08 AM

I use M2 for my personal emails since i have to leave Opera on all the times anyway. The good (actually I think it's the best in this league) is: Speed. M2 fetches mails so fast! And the set-up procedure is less painful than other email clients too.

Anyway, I still use Outlook 2007 since I need to sync my to-do list, calendar and contacts to my cellphone. The integrated calendar would be nice (although if you really want to go that far, you should make M2 as separate mail client)
  • Henrik KonstigWednesday, August 19, 2009 11:00:40 AM

I don't use Opera Mail. I live in Opera Mail.
  • SushubhWednesday, August 19, 2009 11:04:11 AM

i use it because it makes managing rss and email pretty damn easy.
  • stiansomoenWednesday, August 19, 2009 11:20:09 AM

  • Christian HartungWednesday, August 19, 2009 11:46:46 AM

I use M2 with my work email
  • ChrisWednesday, August 19, 2009 11:55:25 AM

Apart from the missing GPG support, Opera is a phantastic mail client!
  • Daniel HendrycksWednesday, August 19, 2009 12:01:56 PM

Opera's mail client is such a great feature because it keeps me up to date by alerting me right when someone shoots me a message. I never have to open a new program to read my e-mail, it is always right there in Opera! Opera's mail client is such a essential feature that makes my life easier and faster.
  • Fabio AssoliniWednesday, August 19, 2009 12:06:30 PM

M2 is an amazing mail client!

His integration with browser and working like a RSS reader is a feature unique that other users need to know!
  • Dan AlexandruWednesday, August 19, 2009 12:13:26 PM

Back to calling it "M2", eh?
  • Spenser DavisonWednesday, August 19, 2009 12:15:50 PM

Opera's mail client was one of the main reasons I started using Opera in the first place! I use it all the time, and its very important to me because of how much simplifies an already hectic life.
  • techlawsamWednesday, August 19, 2009 12:16:14 PM

a more practical version of outlook embedded in a true Internet explorer!
  • KryptoKnightWednesday, August 19, 2009 12:31:40 PM

I use it and love it. It would make my life much much easier if it integrated with Gmail better, though... You know, M2 labels = Gmail labels kinda thing... I know it is partially Gmail's fault, but still...

  • ishsWednesday, August 19, 2009 1:11:55 PM

    i use it too

    viu viu
  • mistressEVILWednesday, August 19, 2009 1:12:47 PM

I set it up for emails that i didn't check or use much before (gmail and another one), but never bothered about digging deep into settings.
Simple and easy to use, i like it
  • Andylee SatoWednesday, August 19, 2009 1:23:24 PM

I have used Opera mail for 2 years now and I like it very much.

I formerly tried Outlook Express and I always had two programs running: A browser (Opera since 2006) and Outlook.

Now as I am using Opera Mail I don't want to even try any solution that needs me to run an extra application.
Opera allows me to focus my time and attention to one application and therefore I am able to work more efficiently then before.

Of course there still is very much to add in terms of features and to polish in terms of usability, but it works fine with my 8 mail accounts and provides everything I need for work (at least since Opera 10 adds HTML mail support).
