Are you sure? According to the hover tooltip, that number refers to compression, not speed.

I really don't see any speed increase, certainly NOT twice the speed.

Are you on a slow connection?

WebP move is a good one it is time to drop JPEG.. Stupid Question though will this improve for opera mobile users since it has turbo feature as well ?

Okay, I guess that's what it was, Chirpie ... a X2 compression factor. Yeah, whatever that green indicator down on the bottom left was. Regardless of it supposedly being an X2 compression factor, which I guess would mean less data to download ... I still didn't remotely notice any more quickness to load this page. In fact, I swear it was SLOWER. In fact, after I was getting aggravated at it taking MORE time to load this page, a message finally popped up saying Opera Turbo couldn't connect.

I am on Dial Up Internet.
That's why I wasn't exactly exaggerating when I made my analogy of the turtle with 3 bad legs and a thorn on the fourth.

Working rather well here. Curious what the CPU hit is for new image compression, are there any numbers that can be shared on that front? (I imagine average compression time was also factored)

The model for the photo comparison is the Opera's Chief Standards Officer Charles McCathieNevile :knight:, very nice person that I had the honor to meet in person

I'm wondering what will Mr. McCathieNevile say about your comment? :
