Will it contain passwords synchronization already ?
    (a.k.a. opera:config#OperaSync|SyncPasswordManager)

Opera 11.10 with old skin? :worried:
  • Boozie '16. March 2011, 10:56

The only thing I could see them adding right now is some more syncing options. Because Opera's so awesome already. [only prob I have is some sites being naughty and giving trouble...]

I guess it is something similar to this one: http://my.opera.com/chooseopera/blog/2010/08/20/get-the-weather-in-your-speed-dial

But the weather image in the above Speed Dial looks much better. Would like to know, too
  • steffie1116. March 2011, 11:40

    THATS AMAZING
  • Tanel16. March 2011, 11:43

The weather thumbnail just gave me (the so-so-so obvious) idea: now how awesome would that be if Opera extensions could add speed dial thumbnails?

Weather, clocks, maps, Opera unite/whatever on speeddial — tada!

Opera has so many great functionalities built in. If only they would also get along and integrate with each other… Would yet again give Opera an unique edge over the competition.

    Good news, everybody!

    1. I open opera, I open any 2 tab, 1 empty with Speed Dial and I group them. Active tab not the empty.
    2. I close and open Opera
    3. I direct the mouse cursor at group tabs and I look sketches, they are strongly deformed.

I hope to see some visible changes in the skin...not a complete overhaul but at least some improvements that are not focused to the speed dial only! The actual UI is basically a refined version of the one in 10.5 :p:

    Anyway, great news!

Extensions are not everything Opera has built in - Unite Services can ...
  • Patrick O'Reilly16. March 2011, 12:20

Not a bad idea, with the improvements in the speed dial announced last Thursday, a website like Accuweather could provide minimized CSS layout with Logo, Weather icon and localised text and specify for the thumbnail to refresh every 30mins.

UPDATE: Ok I totally didn't look at the screenshot above :-p
Plus I see ElReg get's pride of place down in trap #9

I personally think widgets would be more suited for this.

True. But looking from the end user's perspective, the "extensions" is the most known browser add-on feature to the general audience of Internet users.

Unite, Widgets, even the Panels bar etc are pretty much Opera's exclusive offering, the learning curve to get to know and use them on daily basis is a lot larger. If Opera'd make those features accessible through extensions, it would most certainly help to reduce that difference.

Now you can add the Speed Dial you want? Is there no limitations on the amount?

You can easily make it work almost exactly like the old one. But because of your rudeness I'll refrain from helping you.

    I'm still hoping for native multi-touch support on Windows 7. I can still dream can't I ?
  • Zalex ;-)16. March 2011, 18:23

I can't compare the new Speed Dial (with the Plus button deforming the layout) with the old SpeedDial, where you can put exactly the quantity you want.
