Downloads
Download a file
When you want to download something from a website, for example a file, a Download dialog appears.
Click "Open" to save the file in the download directory and open it when it has been downloaded. Opera sets up a default download folder for you. If you want a different folder on your computer, click "Choose".
Click "Save" to specify where to save the file. After the file has been downloaded, open it by double-clicking in the Downloads panel or tab. When using this option, files are downloaded to this directory without asking for confirmation.
Note: Use virus-protection software before executing downloaded files.
Change download preferences
You can decide how Opera should handle files you download by going to Settings > Preferences > Advanced > Downloads.
The Downloads preference tab lists Opera's default setup for handling downloaded files. To edit a file type, find it in the list, or type the name in the "Quick find" field, highlight it, and select "Edit". The table below lists and describes the different editing options in the File type dialog.
