Webpage audio

Webpages sometimes play audio tracks, such as music or voice.

Turn it off or on

When you do not want to hear webpage audio, for example, if you are listening to music from your computer, or are working in a shared environment, you can disable it. Go to Settings > Preferences > Advanced > Content and uncheck "Enable sound in webpages". To turn it back on, check this option.

Program event sounds

Sound clips can be played for certain Opera program events. For example, you can play a jingle when a download is complete.

To set events sounds, go to Settings > Preferences > Advanced > Notifications, select an event and click "Choose". Select a sound file from your computer.

Set site-specific preferences

If you want to disable or enable sound for a particular website, you can use site preferences.
