Mouse gestures

Opera's amazing mouse gestures lets you do frequently performed browse operations with small, quick mouse movements. Some operations can be done with several different gestures. Try them out and see which one you like better.

Example: Pressing Ctrl on your keyboard while rolling the wheel on your mouse activates zooming.

When mouse gestures are enabled, a visual guide displays when you hold the right mouse button down and move the mouse. This visual interface shows the available gestures. When you complete an action, a notification briefly shows what action you performed. When you perform gestures quickly, the interface will not display.

Turn mouse gestures on or off

Mouse gestures can be enabled or disabled via Settings > Preferences > Advanced > Shortcuts, by checking/unchecking the box labeled "Enable mouse gestures". In this setting, you can also:

• Enable corresponding back and forward gestures if you are left-handed
• Enable or disable visual hints that display when making mouse gestures

Navigation gestures

These gestures help you to navigate faster.

Go to parent directory	Hold right button, move up then left
Fast Forward	Hold right button, move right then up

Tab gestures

1. Click and hold right mouse button
2. Move the mouse in the indicated directions below
3. Release the right mouse button

Clone tab (open a copy in a background tab)	Hold right button, move down then up
Restore or maximize tab	Hold right button, move up then right

Link gestures

1. Point your mouse to a link
2. Click and hold right mouse button
3. Move the mouse in the indicated directions below
4. Release the right mouse button

Wheel gestures

Scroll up and down	Roll mouse wheel up and down

Move back and forth in tab history	Hold Shift key, roll mouse wheel
Cycle through open tabs	Hold right button, roll mouse wheel
Pan the webpage	Click wheel then move mouse
